The RTR Conference
Showcasing European funded research results shaping the future of road transport
About the RTR Conference
The conference on Results from Road Transport Research (RTR Conference) is an annual European event that highlights the outcomes, achievements and impacts of EU-funded research projects in the area of road transport.
Since its start, in 2017, the conference has been a key meeting point for the European road transport research and innovation community. Every year, it brings together research projects coordinators, industry representatives, public authorities, associations, policymakers and other stakeholders to share the latest findings from Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and other European funding programmes.
The conference offers a unique entry point on the contribution of European research projects to a safer, cleaner, more connected, automated, efficient and competitive road transport.
A platform for EU-funded research project results
The RTR Conference highlights the accomplishments of EU-funded research projects in key areas relevant for road transport:
Zero-emission and green vehicles
Logistics and freight transport
Intelligent Transport Systems
Batteries
Road Safety
Infrastructure
Air Quality
Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility
International cooperation
Urban Mobility
Digitalisation and SDV
Connecting research and deployment
By sharing the outcomes of EU-funded projects, the RTR Conference helps spread knowledge, spot common challenges, encourage collaboration and highlight future research needs. The conference also aims to support the ongoing development of Europe’s road transport research agenda.
Organised by leading European road transport stakeholders
The RTR Conference is organised by the 2Zero Partnership, ERTRAC, the CCAM Partnership, and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation.
Together, the organisers ensure the conference reflects the diversity of European road transport research, innovation and (pre) deployment.
A growing European research community
Over the years, the RTR Conference has grown in both size and importance. The latest event brought together more than 1 000 online and onsite participants, over 100 speakers and more than 90 EU-funded projects presented in several parallel sessions.
The conference remains a unique way to access to the results of European funded research projects in road transport and a valuable forum for anyone interested to learn how research and innovation are shaping the future of mobility in Europe.
